Carver Early College (CEC), the first Early College program in Georgia, welcomed its first class in 2005 as part the Atlanta Public Schools Small School Initiative. With Georgia State University, a research-based institution as its partner, CEC sought to change the face of higher education by targeting those students traditionally underrepresented on college campuses.
